Our vision is what we want to see. It's our response to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
What we want to see
Vision is simply, "What we want to see". The name of our church encapsulates that we want to see. Our name is our vision. We want to be a "gateway" – a church that sees the people of our city connected with God. Our name is inspired by:
Isaiah 62:10
Pass through, pass through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people.
Build up, build up the highway!
Remove the stones.
Raise a banner for the nations.
In this prophetic picture, the people are encouraged to enter into the city through the gateway – the established entry point. Jesus is the "gateway" – the entry point into relationship with the Father. As a church (Jesus' body) we too are a "gateway" – an established family who point people to Jesus. We do this by speaking and serving.
Gateways
An important part of our vision is to see a network of gateways established in the fabric of our city. A gateway is not necessarily another church, but instead an authentic opportunity to serve and connect with our community. Gateways take the form of businesses, non-profit initiatives and a variety of community projects.
